Las,
I didn't think of sending you the names of the guys in the pictures on the "Scouting" article, but here they are, to the best of my memory. Please forgive me if I get some wrong, or if I've forgotten the names of some of the boys. It's been a long time . . . . . . .
Photo 1. Fr. Cuthbert is distributing Holy Communion to Joe Azar, Gerard Gioanetti and Bro. Vincent.
Photo 2. Manuel Prada is sitting astride of a camp bench fixing a stove that was giving him hell. I can still remember the incident.
Photo 3. Norman Smith and Roger Ames (Woodpecker Patrol)
Photo 4. Joe Azar and his Patrol, including: Dennis Gurley, Stuart Henderson, Bernard D'Abadie, Joe Azar, Wayne O'Connor and ohmigosh, how could I forget. (Forgive me)
Photo 5. Jeff Gransaull, ---x?---, ---x?---, ? Koon How (I think), ---x?---, and ---- de Verteuil.
Maybe this will help?
Regards,
Nigel
P.S. I have some more MSB pictures and will send them in time.

Thank you Nigel, your photos are really good and I hope that those in the photos, confirm their names after having received your article and having looked at the photos. “old”boys perk up, there were other scouts?, at least I remember having seen them with my eyes, from 1955 to 1960. Can you supply some new photos and articles?.
Here in Venezuela there are a couple of them that I remember working for their badges, wearing uniforms, blowing trumpets!, with a lot of enthusiasm, but that was long ago.

The photo: A rocket that was built during my last year at the Mount.
The story: The igniter, a small pivotable old JETEX motor filled with cotton and alcohol, which was pulled with a thread from a safe distance so that it moved underneath of the rocket motor, where it ignited a fuse and the fuel that was prepared behind the sports house using Potassium Chlorate and sugar mixed in a cup over an open flame fire, Fr. Benedict, had he known at the moment, would have been proud of us. Dangerous operation as two occasions the mixture caught fire and the hot vapours did slight damage to our hands!!!. In both occasions that it happened, ones my hands and in the other, the hands of ? (maybe someone can tell me) it was Saturday and no one wanted to go to the infirmary because of the Saturday night movies.
Did it fly??, we set the rocket on the hill on the North side of the football field on the top edge of the cliff, well it is difficult to say as it started up with a lot of smoke and suddenly Fr. Bernard appeared from no where at the road on the first bent out of the sports field very close to where we were and asked if we were lighting fire. I took the rocket and threw it from the mountain side to the football field where it sputtered. Next I ran up to Fr. Bernard to tell him something which finally satisfied him and continued up the monastery road. We ran down to rescue the rocket, the smoke subsided and all that was left was a melted aluminium cylinder. The conclusion was that there was no enough pressure in the propulsion chamber. If there would have been one!!! Who knows the results?
Through the years I have seen a movie on TV, The Rocketers, a bunch of West Virginia high school student, doing the same thing. They were persistent, rocket after rocket; ours was a one try event.
God Bless
Ladislao
